Description
This lesson on the nature of science describes the scientific method – what science is and how it is used to investigate the natural world, from a hypothesis to an experiment to published data. We will focus on experiment design and data analysis, to formulate well-supported theories. Finally, we will look at the impact science has had on society and how it is (often wrongly) communicated to the public. By the end of this lesson, a student should understand how to think critically and skeptically, and how to formulate a hypothesis, design an experiment to test that hypothesis and analyse the data to come up with a conclusion.
