Description
This chemistry lesson describes the different types of chemical substances. We first describe the three states of matter – solids, liquids and gases, and changes of state. We’ll look at the periodic table of elements, metals and non-metals, and explain the difference between a mixture and a compound and the different ways of separating mixtures in a lab. Finally, we cover acids, bases and the pH scale – and the two experiments associated with them.
In this lesson we will cover both higher and ordinary level Junior Certificate Science Chemical Substances. This lesson will cover:
- States of Matter
- The Periodic Tables
- Separating Mixtures
- Acids and Bases
- Exam Questions
With lessons, tests, hotspots, games and interactive videos, improve your knowledge of Science in the topic of Chemical Substances!
